Dye At Home - Workshop and Kit - SUNDAY 22ND AUGUST 2PM (BST)
Ever wanted to give yarn dyeing a try? Using professional acid dyes, and working with Laura herself, this one hour workshop will take you through the basics of indie dyeing. I’ll be sharing a few indie secrets as well as talking you through different dye techniques, including: hand painting, immersion dyeing and speckling. The workshop will take place over zoom, and is limited to 15 participants, so please ensure you are able to access it through this platform. The link will be sent the day before the workshop. Date and time: Sunday 22nd August 2021, 2pm BST. You’ll receive a kit through the post, in advance containing everything you’ll need, including: • x2 100g skeins of either our Merino Sock or Merino DK yarn (you can also purchase more undyed skeins • two recyclable foil trays • N95 mask • gloves • citric acid • compostable wooden spoons • recycled plastic cups • 3x acid dyes (these will be a blue, yellow and pink as standard but you are welcome to request other colours and I’ll see what I can do!) All you need is yourself, your computer, your tap, kettle and oven! As protecting the environment is very important to me, I have tried to use recycled, recyclables or compostable materials where possible, please do dispose of your kit elements responsibly, or, even better, reuse for your future yarn dyeing adventures! INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: you are very welcome to join us, but please note the workshop timezone and also ensure you order at least two weeks in advance to allow for the kit to arrive in time. Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any postage delays, as COVID is still affecting these.
